The Job : The role is to be this company’s IT person You will take ownership of the maintenance, setting up, configuring and smooth running of this company’s computers, networks and peripherals. Specific duties include: Installation and Configuration of Networks and Computer Systems Installation, configuration and maintenance of new or upgraded computer networks in timely and efficient way to minimise disruption to the business Configuring new networks to suit the Company’s specific needs and optimise performance Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications Identify and lead execution of software and hardware upgrades. Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment Basic website support. Setting Up Peripherals Own the procurement, set up and maintenance of workstations with computer network peripherals (including printers, keyboards, routers, modems, and smart devices) Ensure peripherals and computer hardware are checked to be functional and secure Order and stock office IT supplies as necessary Add or update workstations for new and existing employees Maintaining Internet service, firewalls, telephone systems and standard network drive files. Customer Management System (CMS) Understand and be able to support the in-house CMS Provide first-line support Become the in-house Super User Develop a user-guide Training for all new staff and management of on-going training programme Extracting data from other systems as required Assist external IT consultants and company staff in the implementing minor agreed changes and updates to the CSM system and commercial allied websites Maintaining and Repairing Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc) Perform regular checks of network for errors Repair malfunctioning peripherals where possible Provide technical assistance to employees as needed Perform routine PC maintenance and updates for performance efficiency, functionality and security Initiate process improvements to better answer and manage user demands Provide out of hours support as required Helping Customers Provide helpdesk support, answering calls and emails regarding technical problems Resolve problems promptly and accurately. Data Keeping detailed records of network configurations, peripheral specifications, problems and solutions, and other records as required by the Company Analyse IT data to address repeat issues and make recommendations for improvements The working environment is good fun and friendly.
