Systems Engineer – Weapon Systems Location: Bristol Salary: £30,000 - £52,000 P/A benefits (Including Bonus, Overtime, Pension) Hours:37 hours per week We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Design Engineer to join an ambitious, highly regarded, scientific engineering / manufacturing business that are in a position of sustained growth. T he Systems Engineer – Weapon Systems will be involved in the full design and development lifecycle of Weapon Systems, from concept through to in-service support. The role provides the Systems Engineer – Weapon Systems the opportunity to work on primary development projects, major sub-systems contracts and interface with both customers’ and suppliers on technical issues. The role will see you carry out a range of activities such as, but not limited to; Requirements Specification and Design – carrying out a full range of technical analyses and investigations, preparing specifications and developing designs. Systems performance analysis. Systems Architecture design. Systems Validation – including certification and design verification. Flow-down of system requirements to subsystem requirement specifications. Define and maintain design justification record providing linkage from system requirements to subsystem requirements. Development of system-level test sequences. Liaise with European counterparts to maintain a coherent system design. Skills Required Essential Ideally degree qualified or equivalent. Adaptable approach – capable of focussing on both domestic and export needs, taking into consideration existing constraints in design proposals. Team Player, capable of working with others from various disciplines to reach a consensus agreement. Pro-active / self-starter. An ability to use their enthusiasm and drive to work autonomously and efficiently to influence team members and other stakeholders in producing technical outputs of good quality in a timely manner. Experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment; from requirements capture/approval through to proving planning and certification. Experience of system studies including design trades, performance analysis, telemetry data analysis etc. Desirable Good understanding of system engineering processes including SysML (training can be provided). Experience in DOORS (training can be provided). Weapon system knowledge. An ability to rapidly assimilate technical data and produce good quality, proportionate technical documents in a timely manner. You will need to be able and willing to gain (UK Eyes only) security clearance, potentially to DV level in the future.
