Overview

Come and Join the Crew World To work with the Design, Buying Department and Suppliers, to develop products through all stages of sample development and production. Driving high standard of fit, construction, quality, fabric & performance integrity. Provide suppliers with Technical data & Feedback on fits, via Fit Approvals, Lab Tests and AQL, legal and safety compliance. Oversee day to day running of the Women’s technical department. Developing specification sheets for new shapes and designs, for both men’s and women’s wear. Managing garment technicians on a day to day basis. Ensure technical capability of the supply base with a view to maintain customer satisfaction and minimise returns Responsibilities: Design Work closely with the Design team to support creation of the Proto tech pack, ensure specification sheets are created in line with critical path and the pack is risk assessed with a 'right first time’ attitude. Standardizing fits for core styles for required categories. Maintaining accurate block library and fabric library file. Organising fit models ( 3 months advance / and schedule of proto fits) Attend all fit meetings for categories, making changes to size charts and patterns. Liaising with suppliers on fit, quality and fabric testing on both womenswear and menswear, To develop new fits and ensure they are signed off in a timely manner as part of the block process. Production Visit factories to set standards, reduce risk, and inspect goods, at high production. Own & control fit meetings. Manage model budget for department. Manage technical critical path at style level. Update tech packs with appropriate comments / spec & communicate well with supplier, according to critical path. Check and approve lab test reports & care labels, in line with critical path, ensuring product is easy care. Make sure all new fabrics for both men’s and womenswear have had test reports performed on them and have been approved by yourself, before production commences, Ensuring critical path is adhered to as far as possible regarding production and delivery dates,OrdersBe confident about escalating issues where product of delivery will be compromised, or dates in jeopardy. Work with Torque QC / supplier to ensure compliance to AQL process and quick resolution of any issues. Liaise with stores regarding customer’s feedback for fit and quality of product on both men’s and ladies wear. Ensure all manufactures comply with legal, compliance and performance integrity standards. Commercial Awareness Able to react quickly and solve potential problems Key Performance Indicators: Drive down returns rate and negative customer feedback. Track success of early risk assessment & quality improvements which are a reaction to feedback or problems. Product that reflects the Crew Clothing standards is delivered on time to the Customer. Drive down sample to seal rate through right first time attitude and effective use of evolving block library, to improve CP dates. Drive down shipment sample / AQL rejections, through good supplier management and SOP. 100% CP date adherence. Product is fit for purpose, commercial and on-brand. All agreed measures are achieved without compromise. Returns rate continues to reduce. Quality and Fit become consistently of the Crew Clothing agreed standard. Key Skills and Experience: A minimum of 6 years’ experience, with 2 years at senior level. Specialist Technical Knowledge, in required field. Exceptionally organised. A Strong team player. Experience of managing critical path. Excellent understanding of pattern cutting and garment construction. Previous work experience within the fashion, retail sector. Brand awareness. Factory experience.
