Overview
My client is currently looking for a Senior Housing Needs officers on a temporary basis for a approx 3 months based in North London at the rate of £26 umbrella -With your experience you will provide excellent services to all residents and customers who present, apply or are referred to the service by offering high standards of customer care at all times acting with integrity and courtesy -To make decisions on the outcome of individual homelessness applications in complex cases under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 as amended accepting, refusing or ending duties as appropriate in accordance with statute, case law, the facts of each case, and the Homelessness Code of Guidance -To lead on or assist the Homeless Assessment and Reviews Manager as appropriate in the conduct and administration of statutory reviews of negative homelessness decisions under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended). -To lead on the conduct and administration of statutory reviews of decisions relating to the suitability of temporary accommodation and offers of permanent accommodation as well as s.167 reviews for housing register purposes under Part VI of the Housing Act 1996. -To manage the assisted choice process for applicants who are assessed as having a priority for housing under the organisations scheme of allocation. -To develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 Part VII, the Code of Guidance and all associated case law. To apply this knowledge in the investigation of applications received by the borough. -To develop and maintain a working knowledge of other legislation relevant to homelessness assessments, including landlord and tenant, family, welfare benefits, child care, and other related case law as may be relevant to the post.
