Title: Temporary / Full time, Live in Support Worker Location: Sutton Coldfield, B75 Nearest Train Station: Sutton Coldfield Wage: £14.00 gross per hour, £45.00 gross per night Driver required? Not Required Essential: Supporting children with SEN, providing personal care, excellent communication skills Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: Temporary contract 2-3 months, hours to be discussed and agreed with the client Family/Client Pets: 2 dogs Accommodation:Double bedroom, separate toilet facilities, shared sitting room and kitchen facilities About this client/child: Lucy 12, is a charming and active young lady. She enjoys shopping, cooking, arts and crafts, playing outdoors and spending time with her family. Lucy has a cerebral palsy which affects all her body. She is unable to walk and mobilises with a powered wheelchair. Lucy has some learning disabilities but is very curious and enjoys participating in a wide range of activities and likes to be as involved in her self-care as much as possible. She lives with her parents and younger brother; their house is adapted to all her needs. She usually attends a special school and has a care team at home who ordinarily look after her when she is not at school. Lucy has limited speech but is learning to use some signs, PECS and a speech device. Overview of role: Your role as a live-in support worker will be to assist Lucy with all her daily tasks and support the family with sleeping nights. The family has put themselves into a voluntary lockdown since 16th March due to Lucy’s vulnerability. Lucy has a full team who have been stood down to eliminate the risk of passing on the Coronavirus. You will assist with Lucy’s personal care, meal preparation, organise fun and stimulating activities.
