Overview
We are looking to recruit a Design Engineer with Automotive experience to join our Engineering customer based in Devon. This position would suit an experienced designer who is looking to relocate to the South West to work on market leading products. You will carry out work from design through to full manufacturing definition, helping to deliver concept work and define primary and secondary components as well as liaise with suppliers. Design manufacturing Support during prototype phase will be a requirement. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: In depth knowledge of materials and processing. Good knowledge and background in composites manufacture, including patterns and tooling. Experience of jigging and bonded assemblies desirable Fully conversant with drawing standards and practices. Good understanding of load paths, structures and knowledge of FEA of composites desirable. Multi skilled and ability to design metallic parts required. Understanding of manufacturing decision routes, limitations of machining and forming processes desirable Dynamic and highly motivated individual open to expanding knowledge working in unfamiliar engineering disciplines.
