Due to our continued success we are seeking an Area Cleaning Supervisor to efficiently and effectively manage contracts in and around the Birmingham Area. It would be beneficial if you are located within reasonable distance of these areas. Duties and Responsibilities The role will essentially be to support the Regional/Area Managers within a Region providing an excellent service to our clients. Including responsibility for recruiting, training, monitoring of stock making sure of excellent cleaning standards and health and safety compliance. To take over a limited number of sites within the region Provision of cover cleaning operatives, often at short notice and may require the Area Supervisor to personally clean the site if a cover operative cannot be sourced. Staff Relationships. This includes building a good rapport and understanding staff, identifying training needs and day to day management, solving issues and reporting back to the Regional/Area Manager. Responsibility for cleaner performance and monitoring. Regional/Area Manager must be informed of all issues. To audit and monitor the standards of cleaning ensuring that agreed standards are consistently delivered. Management of all directly employed staff, including recruitment and selection, training, performance management and staff retention and immigration compliance. Completion of starter forms to meet published requirements and deadlines. Where applicable attending new client site meetings with sales executive, ensuring setup and provision of staff. Adhering to TUPE compliance at all times. Attend training and meetings as required. Understand and implement the organization, service, standard procedures and policies including, with the guidance of Regional/Area Managers staff disciplinaries. Ensure sites are Health and Safety compliant (report any concerns to the H&S Director in writing). Provision and maintenance of site reference manuals at all sites in designated area including Health and Safety documentation, COSHH, data sheets and risk assessments, signing in/out books and communication books. Monitor materials on site ensuring stock levels are maintained and not excessive Monitor equipment on site making sure they are kept in a clean and are fit for purpose Liaise with Customer’s and Regional/Area Managers on a regular basis Cover the cleaning of sites at short notice absence and difficult to cover sites Periodic/ One off cleans - Manage delivery of these Delivering stock to sites Any other ad hoc duties as required by the Regional/Area Manager within the region. It should be noted that Area Supervisors are there to support where required but overall responsibility of the sites sits with the Regional/Area Manager Core Skills Confident and of smart appearance, personal presentation to a high standard at all times. Previous Supervisory Experience Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, with all management and staff disciplines. Possess strong interpersonal skills Ability to build relationships Be self-motivated and able to motivate staff. Understanding of the need to control costs Possess good organisational skills Proven cleaning industry experience Basic numerical capacity Technical knowledge of cleaning methods and techniques Capable of implementing actions to resolve problems Prioritise quality as a key issue, capable of identifying and implanting quality improvements Ability to assist performance of staff and implement training actions to rectify if needed. Appreciation of the need for safe working practices, with the ability to implement company policy and ensure it is adhered to. Evidence of the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines Hours Monday to Friday 37.50 hours per week - flexibility is key so candidates must be available Mornings and Evening in order to meet the needs of the business.
