Overview
We are looking for an experienced Technician/Fitter in Newtown, working for a Local Authority 6 months contract, start immediatly . Pay Rate: £11.88- 13.99 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience Duties/ Purpose of Job: To carry out vehicle and plant Inspections, maintenance, servicing and repairs in accordance with DVSA standards, Fleet Policy and manufacturers’ recommendations. To assist in the vehicle and plant maintenance operations both in the workshops and off site. “Essential Requirements” – Please check to ensure that your CV addresses the following items: Your address (including post code) and a telephone number so that we can reach you during working hours Your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this. Your availability to work either immediately, or at short notice. Experience required: Experience in heavy vehicle or heavy plant maintenance Experience desirable: experience in vehicle inspection to meet the standards set by DVSA Knowledge essential: Knowledge of Health and Safety Mechanical knowledge of a broad range of vehicles, machinery, equipment and tools Qualifications and training essential: Accredited nationally recognised qualification in the repair and maintenance of vehicles or heavy plant to QCF level 3 or Current IRTEC Advanced Technician licence holder or DVSA Nominated tester Possess a full current valid Category B driving licence Possess a full current Category C driving licence or the capability to attain a Category C licence within 2 years after probationary period Commitment to undergo any future training required for the role Qualifications and training required: DVSA nominated tester Health and Safety Certificate to a minimum standard of IOSH
