Overview
REED Social Care are recruiting on behalf of a national supported housing association for a waking night support and security worker. Based at 3 schemes in Derby you will be providing support and assistance to homeless and/or vulnerable adults. Many of the adults will have substance and alcohol issues. The schemes offer temporary accommodation, be it in a hostel or supported accommodation environment. You will be working alongside a committed team, helping people to get back on their feet, after being homeless or recently released from prison. One of the units is female only. Two of the schemes are lone working and the other has 3 staff per night working there. You will be required to work at all of the schemes from time to time. Your main duties will involve: Providing advocacy and support for vulnerable adults Act as an initial point of reference on the phone, or in a reception area as required Use company intranet (RIC), email and other basic correspondence as and when required Implementing day/ night security systems, ensuring overall safety and security on the schemes Respond to faults as discovered Monitor access to schemes and visitors Meeting the requirements of health and safety policies and practices Reporting incidents and anti-social behaviour. Carry out domestic tasks (cleaning communal areas) to a high standard Effective recording of information Implementing policies and procedures to ensure effective service delivery Advises management promptly of any signs of problems or concerns about a client Reporting repairs to maintenance contractors by using appropriate systems Ensure culture and diversity issues for the clients are considered at all times, and report any forms of discrimination Promote and encourage a high level of client involvement, consultation and communication The role is a temporary but ongoing role and the shifts are 21.45 - 07.45 waking nights. Pay for these roles are £9.50 per hour. All successful applicants will require an Enhanced DBS (the client is happy to accept one dated within the last 12 months) and you will will need to be registered with REED Social Care.
