Accounts Assistant // Maternity cover // 9 months // Trafford / Park/ £21500 to £23000 Are you an Accounts Assistant who wants to take the next step in your career? This 9m contract is the ideal transition role to help you move into Management Accounting once the assignment is competed. I am seeking an Accounts Assistant for Maternity cover in the Trafford Park area. This role provides the opportunity to join a dynamic, busy team where you will be coached directly by a qualified Accountant and will be developed to gain additional skills, right up to trial balance. If you already have a good general knowledge and experience of transactional finance and are looking to gain wider exposure to take you to the next level, this is a rare opportunity to do so. The duties will include: Purchase Ledger - processing invoices, supplier statement reconciliation, query resolution, controlling debit balances, setting up suppliers Sales Ledger - receipting payments, chasing up rent payments, raising invoices, processing statements Subcontractor Ledger - setting up suppliers, veryfying details with HMRC, checking payments are correctly taxed , complying with CIS and applying VAT where applicable. Weekly cheque runs Processing Employee Expenses Dealing with petty cash Month end reconciliations of both nominal & expense accounts Daily banking Intercompany reconciliations & postings Processing of weekly timesheets Assisting with Month end Journals, accruals, prepayments Balance sheet reconciliations The ideal candidate will: Have excellent all round accounts knowledge gained over at least 2 years in a finance role Ideally be AAT qualified or studying for AAT, CIMA or ACCA Be keen to learn and develop, with a fantastic work ethic. As well as coaching and development, this company offers excellent flexibility in terms of working hours - ideal for someone who is studying.
