Ref: 13672 Accounts Manager Central Exeter 15-20 hours p/w £15ph depending on experience My client is seeking an experienced individual to succeed their Accounts Manager when she retires later this year. Based in Exeter, this is a pivotal role within a small stable team. Working closely with the Directors, and supported by a couple of colleagues in certain areas, it is the Accounts Managers responsibility to ensure tight control over a high volume of transactions. Key responsibilities: Using Sage and industry specific software: Setting up and maintaining detailed client records, producing monthly invoicing Monthly VAT reporting Monthly payroll preparation & liaising with the external provider, producing payroll journals Calculation of expenditure charges, checking against budget schedules, producing expenditure to-date reports and preparing quarterly invoicing Preparing quarterly statements Preparing quarterly income reports Calculating and preparing quarterly VAT returns Ad hoc payments for expense claims Year-end reconciliations, working with multiple year ends Preparing industry specific returns Liaising with external accountants Given the nature of the industry, this role requires a high level of organisation to manage the numerous facets of the role, whilst accuracy and a methodical way of working are essential to maintain the efficiency of the department. The ideal candidate for the Accounts Manager position will be: AAT qualified or qualified by experience Highly competent using sage and excel Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Autonomous and self- motivated This is an ideal role for someone who likes to be a big part of a small team, having a high level of responsibility, and the challenge of a varied work load, packed into part time hours. The salary will be dependent on previous experience and the pattern of hours can be changed to suit. The current Accounts Manager, who has been in the role for many years, is happy to support a good handover period.
