Senior Design Engineer - Electrical & Mechanical - £90k & Bonus, 10% pension, private health, life assurance & more - Data Centre environment - London (Paddington) The Opportunity Would you like to get involved in one of the most exciting programme of works in the UK that is going to revolutionise the daily lives of commuters in London? This project is to roll out 4G mobile connectivity across the underground sections of the London Underground network and while platform access is available for Wi-Fi at the moment, this network build and deployment programme will allow that access to data when on the move in the tunnels so is one of the biggest commuting game changers for many a year. This role is working for the client and network owner. The Role As the senior designer, you will be accountable for the detailed design, specification and installation of the critical infrastructure required across Data Centres in relation to mechanical, electrical and fire equipment, that all regulatory standards are met and maintained. This is a deigning a brand new network from scratch in and around London in challenging timescales, so a role that will require a proven professional from day 1. Who are you? A senior M&E designer from a Data Centre environment, it's that simple. Someone who has Relevant Data Centre experience (Mechanical & Electrical, air conditioning, generators, UPS's and switching) and is looking to be part of, literally a 'one of a kind' project on the London Underground. Experience of working on and around projects associated with rail, TFL or LUL a distinct advantage and specifically by way of engineering or technology projects into that sector. This is going to be a rapid growth, scale up business that has the advantage of being able to call upon a proven track record by way of similar projects across the World - however, that ability to play a major part in building and shaping your function quickly is going to be paramount. While it isn't strictly essential that you have built a function from scratch previously, the ability to keep a cool head in a rapid deployment, project environment would be essential but that equals a lot of opportunity in our opinion to really influence moving forward.
