Overview
My Midlands based gaming client is currently recruiting for a junior to mid-weight JavaScript developer to become part of a successful and experienced team. You would be joining a passionate group of game developers making some awesome games. If your looking for your first role as a games developer or already have a couple of years in the industry this would be the perfect next step. Role In this role you will be primarily responsible for writing websites using React, and writing games using our JavaScript games library. You will work closely with designers to provide dynamic websites using React. On the job training will be provided by one of the experienced React developers on everything needed for this role. This includes JSX, Javascript, git, node and npm. The game library is based on the Pixi.js rendering engine so any experience with Phaser or Pixi.js is a plus but all candidates with strong JavaScript skills will be considered. You will work closely with the game designers, artists, testers and other developers to create exiting and original games from start to finish covering all aspect for html5 game development. This includes game logic, particle effects, game physics, sound and animations. You will primarily be a front end developer to begin with but as you get up to speed with how the engine works you will have opportunity to learn about the server side code and also work directly on the game engine itself. There will also be opportunities for you to learn about game maths and all other aspects of developing games for the gambling industry.
