Ruby on Rails Software Engineer - Portsmouth - Up to 75k Please note that my client cannot offer VISA Sponsorship Your new company I'm working with a growing tech company in Portsmouth, who work with some of the world's biggest brands (and not to mention their millions of customers) They are gurus of their industry and actively keep the whole industry stay ahead of the game. Although they work with the biggest corporations, they also like to work with small businesses, ranging from individual store owners to high street chains. They already have a great team of talented engineers, who love to find creative and innovative ways to solve complex hardware and software problems for their clients. They keep the development cycles fast and adapt as they go along. They pride themselves on a culture of discovery and continual feedback. In total there is around 80 employees in their freshly renovated offices in Hampshire. Everyone there is committed to learning more of their trade and supporting each other's growth in the process. On top of this they have all the usual suspects; a sizeable garden, fitness suite, breakout areas, games room, free parking, a plethora of musical instruments, modern kitchens, a host of the latest gadgets, opportunities for sporting enthusiasts, copious Nerf guns and much more. Oh and a 1Gbps fibre connection they take their technology very seriously Your new role You'll be working alongside the highly skilled development and related teams to develop new and existing products for their specialist industry using Rails, Ruby and other cutting edge technologies. Alongside this you'' be providing technical guidance to support client conversations - including the world's largest retailer Walmart Essentially, you'll be creating beautiful and great code and helping them refine best of breed agile delivery processes. What you'll need to succeed They need someone that is fluent in Ruby and its associated frameworks, ideally commercial Rails experience. You'll need to be passionate about cutting edge web technologies and constantly wanting to learn more that's what they're all about Experience at building quality, robust products for technologies across the stack and passionate about the code quality you produce and supporting processes is a must.
