Overview
JOB- Mechanical Design / Development Engineer LOCATION- Surrey TERM- Permanent SALARY- £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) My client designs and manufactures a range of technical products and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design / Development Engineer on a permanent basis in the Surrey area. The Mechanical Design / Development Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: Degree (BSc / BEng) qualification as a minimum in Mechanical Engineering or similar Have 2 or more years’ industry experience working in a similar role Proficiency with 3D CAD software- ideally Solid Edge but other programmes will also be considered Have excellent knowledge of design for manufacture Any previous experience working within research, with mechanisms or with scientific equipment would be beneficial Previous experience working with BOM’s / ERP systems would be advantageous Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to liaise with customers Be keen to develop with a company long term Be hard working and methodical Full UK clean driving licence The Mechanical Design / Development Engineer role will involve: Working within the current engineering R&D team Creating new product designs using Solid Edge CAD software Generating the BOM’s to go with the associated designs Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required Modifying existing drawings too Being involved in hands on testing and prototyping You will have exposure to machining and 3D printing Taking designs from conception right through to production so overseeing the whole product lifecycle If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and your salary expectation.
