Overview

Are you a Development and Support Manager, with experience of managing 1st and 2nd line support teams? If so I am looking to speak with you about an opportunity for a client of mine who are one of the worlds premier entertainment networks. The role This role will direct and line manage the Broadcast Applications Support Team which supports multiple business critical applications which are integrated with other core systems across the global organisation. This team's mission is to provide efficient and consistent support to users all over the world in order to keep the full spectrum of our services running smoothly. The team has responsibility for application Support at both 1st and 2nd line level, supporting business users across the key business systems. The Development and Support Manager will manage the development process as well as be the day to day contact point for offshore development partners. The postholder will act as Scrum Master for inhouse development teams and Agile coach within the department, as well as provide an interface into development progress and success metrics for the rest of the business. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Support team. This includes monitoring adherence to process, mentoring Support team members, trend analysis and proactive continual improvement of the Support function. You will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and managing releases of our products through development, QA, UAT and production environments as well as the automation tools used to build, integrate, test and deploy the software releases. Skills Required 5-7 years' experience of managing development and support teams, with gradually increasing responsibilities and a demonstrated understanding of DevOps and technical quality control processes, artefacts and tools Thorough understanding of the Agile methodology and Scrum in particular, as well as a good understanding of KanBan Excellent knowledge and practical experience of software development lifecycle best practices Excellent knowledge and practical experience of support management best practices Clear grasp of how development and support interact, including best practice monitoring and management tools, and deployment processes and tools High level understanding in the areas of web application programming, content management systems, API, databases, and system design Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management, and project management A track record as a coach, mentor, and developer of talent Knowledge of Jira and Confluence highly desirable Please visit our website www.outsource-uk.co.uk
