Job Description Position: Electrical / Mechanical Engineer (Permanent, Temp or Contract opportunities - IMMEDIATE STARTS AVAILABLE) Location: Rochdale Salary: £31,100 basic 34% shift allowance £41,674 per annum Hours of work: The successful candidate will work a 12 hour shift system that alternate between DAYS and NIGHTS covering the following pattern-: - 2 days on, 2 nights on, 5 off - 2 days on, 3 nights on, 4 off - 3 days on, 2 nights on, 5 off (Repeating thereafter) Role Purpose To undertake a range of Automated Equipment Maintenance Servicing and reactive work within a Co-ordinated engineering team to achieve business and departmental goals/objectives. Key Responsibilities - To carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance to the quality standards as set out in the equipment manuals. - To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices. - Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC. - To work with the control room to prioritise work and maintenance to maintain product flow at all times. - To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times, ensure all matrixes are up-to-date and current. - To ensure quality of output at all times is to the required standard. - To accurately record all work undertaken on the CMMS. - Involvement in continuous improvement. - To ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels and that stores processes are adhered to in the utilisation and management of spares. - To monitor the Flow Controllers and the Maintenance Assistance to ensure best practice is adhered to. - To actively promote health and safety within the team, ensuring that the standard activity has been assessed, and SOP’s written for them, escalating this where any gaps are identified. - To assist the team leader in establishing and promoting your training/development plan to improve departmental responsibilities and help ensure this plan is achieved. - To assist the Team leader that the recommended and additional spares where required are in the stores recording and managing spares usage in line with the control and purchasing systems. - Any other reasonable duties in line with the needs of the business. Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience - ONC/HNC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. - Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship - desirable - A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings - Basic understanding of control systems and techniques - Basic understanding of PLC equipment - Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems - PC literate - basic knowledge of excel, word, outlook - Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules - Working knowledge of engineering H&S, use of OPS, dynamic risk assessments etc. - Experience of working within an automated warehouse environment Competencies - Able to engage positively with the operations at all levels and demonstrate a professional attitude and behaviours. - Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing business conditions - Understanding operational needs and ability to prioritise in light of these - Ability to learn and retain technical information Technical Competencies Competence as per H&S regulations in the following areas: - Ability to work at height - Have a logical approach to fault finding and resolution - Operate within a designed structure of pre-planned maintenance
