Overview

Riverside have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Business Development Officer working full-time, on a fixed term basis for around 6-12 months. You will be required to work 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday. The location for this role in flexible and can be based anywhere, this will also involve national travel. What will you do? This Senior Business Development Officer role works within the Care and Support Business Development, Improvement Team, and you will report to the Head of Improvement. The majority of your time will be spent working within the Improvement Team work streams. Alongside the Improvement team responsibilities, the role will lead on the innovative 'Riverside Impact Fund’. This fund is currently funding two homelessness services on prevention and collaboration to ultimately improve people’s quality of life. You will need to be involved in continued mobilisation of these services and be the specialist within the Business Development team for all Impact Fund related opportunities. The fund consists of £1million of Riverside capital, for the purpose of working with commissioners to fund services on an outcomes-based commissioning model, also known as 'payments-by-results’. We will be both an investor and service provider with a commissioner paying only when agreed outcomes are achieved. Commissioners therefore only pay for what works. The Riverside Impact Fund can help commissioners: • Invest - in a simpler way to test an outcomes-based commissioning model, with a reduced financial risk for commissioners and no need for a special purpose vehicle • Innovate - with greater flexibility around service delivery and focus on meaningful outcomes, using models on an appropriate scale and timescale • Improve - outcomes for individuals by focusing on prevention and partnership working • Inform - future commissioning with evidence for what works. The role will involve being the main point of contact for colleagues and commissioners interested in utilising the fund and working with them to develop a homelessness service on an outcomes-based model. Following the development, a service will then be incorporated into our operations teams with this role focusing on monitoring and evaluation Day to day Your key responsibilities as a Senior Business Development Officer: • Work with Care and Support Region(s) as required to ensure they have a clear plan in place to support the retention of existing business and delivery of targets for growth. • Develop, maintain and provide up to date market knowledge and analysis of risks, trends and opportunities across the care and support sector. • Coach and support Business Development Officers on their development and review of competitive tenders. • Adopt a structured and collaborative approach to a range of strategic priorities aimed at improving the experience and service provided to Customers • Work collaboratively with Asset Services on the investment requirements and strategy to drive up the quality of Riverside’s supported housing For a deeper understanding of your responsibilities, take a look at the job description linked below.
