Demand Planner £30,000 - £35,000 Manchester Do you have strong Forecasting experience coupled with advanced Excel skills? My Client, a Manchester based business has an excellent opportunity available for a Demand Planner to join their team. You will worked within FMCG or Retail. Our Client is a well-established and rapidly expanding importer and wholesaler and now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Demand Planner to join their Manchester based team. The main purpose of you role will be to produce sales forecasts used in Sales and Operations Planning, Working with other departments including Sales, Operations, New Product Development and Supply Chain to ensure the consistent, cost-effective supply of products to customers and Analyse data and provide reports to the business to assist decision making with respect to budget tracking, sales performance and planning. Responsibilities: Collect and collate market and customer intelligence, and make it available to everybody involved in the forecasting process Work with Sales and Marketing to ensure that their market and customer knowledge and plans are reflected in the forecasts Analyse sales trends and identify the key drivers of sales of key products and product groups Develop Standard Operating Procedures for the sales forecasting processes Gather, analyse and validate all data that will be used in preparing statistical forecasts Prepare statistical forecasts for use in the sales forecasting process Facilitate and manage forecast review meetings with all Sales managers Monitor the sales performance of new products and develop a history that can be used as a guide in future launches Provide input to the forecasts for new products Assess the impact of promotions and other events on sales Develop repository of information that can be used to support future forecasting and risk analysis Provide data on sales variability, forecast accuracy and future forecasts that are used in setting safety stocks and inventory planning policies and parameters Lead the Sales and Operations process Prepare reports and data that will be used in the forecast review process - part of the Sales and Operations Planning process Lead root-cause-analysis initiatives and formulate actions and plans to ensure that major forecast variances do not re-occur Requirements Proficiency with statistical and forecasting fundamentals Supply Chain knowledge Sound financial awareness - understanding of financial and operational impacts of forecasting and related decisions Advanced proficiency with software systems - including ERP systems, Sales Forecasting applications and Microsoft Excel Highly analytical, numerate The successful candidate will be having previous experience working in a similar role within a Wholesale or import business. You will have an advanced knowledge of Excel, knowledge of import procedures with solid communication and articulation skills as well as the ability to multi-task.
