POSITION: Out of School Care Manager SALARY: £15.75 per hour BENEFITS: Free training, free uniform, work place pension scheme and much more HOURS: 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, (split shift). Term Time only with some holiday care. The school is seeking to recruit an Out of School Care Manager . You must have a Level 3 in Childcare and a minimum of 3 years experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-regarded primary school. JOB ROLE (not limited to): To act in loco parentis in all relevant matters in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the children attending the Centre, taking account of the social, educational and recreational needs of the children. To work as the lead member of the senior management structure of the Group. To establish routines and practice that ensure high standards of childcare are maintained and met at all times. To demonstrate a sensitivity and understanding of the children’s individual needs working in partnership with other members of staff and parents, to create a warm and caring environment. To ensure that information is appropriately recorded regarding development of individual children, and shared with their parent/carer. To encourage staff members to develop children’s self-confidence, independence and social relationships. To supervise, support and appropriately direct the work of the out of school care staff to ensure the effective delivery of service. To ensure the needs of the staff are taken into consideration. To ensure parents/carers are well informed of their children’s progress and are always welcomed into the Centre. To regularly review and update the curriculum or programme and activities available to children. To monitor and develop these plans. To work with staff members in the planning, preparation and organisation of daily activities to meet the social, educational, physical, creative, emotional and intellectual needs of the children. Where required to ensure children are escorted to and from neighbouring Schools to the Centre when necessary. To have knowledge of and work within the guidelines and conditions adopted by the Group. To model good practice to all staff and trainees. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Must have at least 3 years’ experience. Must have a proven track record of managing a diverse childcare setting and working with primary aged children. Candidates should demonstrate a vision to develop this service to provide holiday care. Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in childcare and an understanding of safeguarding children. Flexibility to work a split shift and in holiday time. Live within a commutable distance and have the right to work in the UK. This post is subject to an enhanced CRB check and suitable references.
