SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER -ASHBY DE LA ZOUCH - £35-£45K - PERMANENT GFR Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, multi-national organisation located in Ashby as a Supply Chain Manager. The successful applicant will be CIPs or MCIPs qualified with experience of working within manufacturing. As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of the Company’s purchasing strategies. You will also be responsible for the management of both suppliers and the ongoing improvement of cost reduction for the business. Main Responsibilities Purchasing of materials / packaging / consumables for production and finished goods stock, at the lowest total acquisition cost to the highest possible quality. The identification of key commodities that are, suitable for long-term single source partnership trading relationships. The identification and appraisal of suitable suppliers and sub-contractors to form long-term trading relationships. Ensuring that the company’s interests are protected, in respect to the purchase of raw materials and consumables for production and finished goods for stock. Create competitive bidding to ensure lowest total acquisition cost. Aggressively seek and recommend cost saving possibilities based upon new or alternative sources. Carry out regular reviews and appraisals of key suppliers and sub-contractors and, where necessary, work with suppliers and sub-contractors in the resolution of issues which are raised in the review and appraisal process. Ensure suitable sourcing of all existing and new purchased materials and consumables for production and finished goods for stock. Expedite solution of any supplier problems, issues and quality defects and ensure that they are dealt with in an effective and timely fashion. Ensure that the monitoring and resolution of supplier quality defects is carried out effectively. Maintain market intelligence and report changes to pricing levels /potential problem areas / conditions which could adversely affect Company’s procurement position and recommend / direct corrective actions. To provide first line contact between manufacturing, purchasing and customer supply. To manage production works order quantities to optimize manufacturing efficiencies as long as this does not have a detrimental effect on the stock holding value. To create and issues to line manager the daily off stock list highlighting any new off stock lines. To create new production works orders from both sales order and works order requests and also any new works order reports indicate are needed. To manage the creation of production specifications and B.O.M.s Ensure accurate standard costs maintained / updated.
