Principal Electrical & Electronic Engineer – Midlands – Up to 60,000 DOE I am working with a blue-chip automotive business and am currently looking for a Principal Electrical & Electronic Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis in their state of art offices based in the Midlands.Supporting the development of Automotive Electric and Electronic Control Systems for new projects, this is an exciting and unique opportunity to join an exclusive automotive environment which is undergoing a transformation and rapid growth in response to its acclaimed global products. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of both Engineering Calculations and Simulation Tools, such as Mathcad and PSpice, as well as excellent working knowledge of electrically controlled Actuators, Automotive Sensors and Automotive Electronic Controllers. You will also have a sound understanding of the constraints related to Electronic Powertrain Control Systems e.g. performance capability, drive-ability, (dynamic and fuel economy), emission and regulation constraints within the Global Automotive Market. Personal Specification ·Strong background of the electronics design & test background: oSchematic design & circuit simulation by using pSpice including both analog and digital circuit oPower supply design: Buck/Booster converter and LDO ouC knowledge: e.g Aurix series oWorst case analysis: Mathcad oHW Test: Test case design & test equipment, oscilloscope oCommunication protocol: CAN/FD, wake-up strategy oEMC & reliability: Test and debug ·Experience in Automotive Powertrain Control Development ·A good understanding of system engineering processes ·Experience of control system development using MiL, HiL & prototype vehicles ·Knowledge of Functional Safety Standard ISO26262 is desirable ·Experience of working with hybrid & battery electric vehicles is desirable ·Experience of undertaking DFMEA at System & Sub-System level, with good logical reasoning Main Duties & Responsibilities ·Support the build-up of an in-depth understanding of Electronic Powertrain Control System interactions in other vehicle systems ·Support Automotive Electronic Powertrain Control System development for future Vehicles ·Working closely with the safety & diagnostic teams to ensure fault reaction strategy is both adequate & achievable ·Support the development & delivery of electronic control architectures for diverse variants of powertrain architectures including hybrid ·Support the development of documented Test Procedures to effectively validate control strategies on both HiL Rig & prototype vehicles Please send your CV to Matthew Dewsnap if you are interested in the opportunity or call for a confidential conversation.
