Overview
Position: SRE Platform Engineer (DevOps) Location: Hemel Hempstead Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Please note that this role is home based but there will be a requirement to attend meetings at our offices in either Hemel Hempstead, London or Ipswich from time to time. DevOps Platform Engineer needed to join a software and outsourcing business with extensive experience in the public sector . Our clients include government agencies, local authorities, the police and emergency services , hospitals, transport providers and utilities . You will be responsible for producing products and services for the probation, prison and policing sectors. My clients are currently undertaking a number of new developments to support the ever-changing justice landscape - this includes the creation of exciting new products for these markets and the migration of their existing products onto the new development platform. What you will be doing: As a DevOps Platform Engineer, you will help to deliver value to the business in the fastest possible way while ensuring we meet the quality, security & reliability requirements of all of our client’s systems. My Clients use a varied technology stack including Angular, Java, Spring Boot, Typescript and Python and we use Docker containers and ECS technologies for all their new applications. Their test automation environment is Java-based and they use an exclusively Agile (Scrum) approach for planning and delivery. Ideally, your skills will include: Computer Science degree or equivalent Excellent communication skills Experience working with Agile Methodologies AWS Solutions Architect certification, or ability to demonstrate this level of knowledge Solid experience supporting software delivery processes Proven ability to understand and architect complicated cloud networks for compliance and scalability Proven ability to understand and problem-solving complex environment Solid experience with IaC (e.g. Docker and CloudFormation) Experience working with Java based technologies and applications Can draw on past examples when you have demonstrated an attitude of collaboration and shared ownership of responsibilities with Software Engineers Benefits: Single Private Medical Cover (with the option to select family cover at an additional cost) 25 days paid holiday (includes 3 company nominated days) with the option to buy/sell up to 5 days 4 x basic salary life assurance cover A Group Pension Plan with fantastic employer contributions A selection of tax efficient flexible benefits to suit your individual needs The role offers a competitive salary.
