Overview

Work Hours: 36 Hours per Week As a Senior Public Health Specialist, you will work within a team of Public Health staff, to support the Director of Public Health to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities in Hackney and the City of London. You will act in a supporting role for specific areas of public health to plan, deliver and evaluate public health initiatives. The role will be based within a central team, but you will work with services and managers across all directorates within Hackney Council and (where relevant) the City of London Corporation, helping to embed public health responsibilities into the framework of the two organisations. You will have the ability to work across all domains of public health and there will be opportunities to work with wider system partners within the City and Hackney Health and Care System. You will be educated to degree level and have significant public health knowledge and skills, acquired through training, experience or formal study. You will bring with you a knowledge of the causes of ill health and inequalities, combined with a knowledge of public health principles and methodologies.
