2nd Line Support Engineer - closing date 23rd March 2020 As a 2nd Line Support Engineer you will be working daily in an educational environment with a team of dedicated professionals responding to helpdesk tickets via email, phone or face-to-face. Good customer service/ communication skills are imperative. You will receive training on the services and products used but will be expected to apply troubleshooting skills to effectively resolve the issues presented to you. Job Responsibilities/Duties: ·To provide 2nd line (helpdesk) technical support for the various School IT systems to the staff and pupils within the campus. ·To provide technical support; answering support issues either via phone, email, or in person ·To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries ·Backup Tape management and ownership ·To take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues ·Troubleshooting helpdesk tickets oEscalating problems where required - we are looking for someone who can do, but equally someone who is prepared to escalate ·Occasional Saturday work during term time ·Supporting and maintaining the School's infrastructures and networks to ensure maximum service ability ·Assist staff and students with their queries/ IT related problems ·Ensure classes are able to make use of IT Equipment including carrying out maintenance of systems ·User management (AD, Group Policy) ·Systems monitoring ·Setting up and configuring Desktops and Laptops as required ·Administration of the School VoIP phone system ·Switch configuration and troubleshooting ·Wireless Controller administration and WAP configuration ·Web / email filtering monitoring and reporting Experience, Skills & Abilities: ·Be able to work as part of a team to ensure all helpdesk queries are answered ·Experience in desktop support ·Good customer service / communication skills, both written and verbally ·CTS to receive a clean and valid DBS disclosure upon successful application (disclosure cost met by CTS) oSuccessful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure.
