JOB OVERVIEW We are looking for Residential Support Childcare Workers to come and join the organisations family at home in the London Borough of Bromley, to help care for children and young people between 8 and 17years of age. The organisation specialise in children & young people who have suffered severe neglect and abuse, have attachment disorders or have suffered childhood trauma. They may have associated syndromes and mental health diagnosis for which they require medication and clinical oversight or support. The organisation’s aim is to ensure their children are safe, well parented and raised in a happy home where they can flourish and learn and give them back the childhood they deserve. They create positive memories through laughter, fun and love to help reduce the challenging behaviours through teaching better ways to cope and their practitioners are experienced in working with children who have been traumatised by their past and understand the impact that parental rejection has on emotional developmental and needs. As a Residential Child Care Worker, you will be positive, resilient and not easily shocked as you will be required to be consistent and support, love and guide the children unconditionally while being faced with some high-level challenging behaviour including physical and verbal aggression. You will need to be able to bounce back from tough times with optimism and understanding and to keep smiling whatever the weather. Working as the Residential Child Care Worker you will need to be strong minded, capable, have a secure understanding of what makes a positive parent. You will need to be open minded and not afraid to get involved. You will need to be easy going, relaxed, have a “Can do” attitude, smiley and happy. The home needs someone who can learn quickly, is willing to go above and beyond, is fun and outgoing but above all is warm, loving, caring and forgiving. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS As the Residential Child Care Worker, you will have the following: • Must have a Full UK Driving license • Must have a passion for working with children • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young people or in Health and Social Care is desirable.
