Senior Staff Nurse - ITU
Overview
HCA Healthcare UK are currently looking for qualified Nurses to Join the intensive Care Team at The Wellington Hospital, to continue and enhance their career in ITU. With our nurse to patient ratio frequently at 1:1 or 1:2, we will give you the opportunity to do what you do best: Care. All our units are equipped with the latest technology and provide specialized care to level 2 & 3 patients; you will have the opportunity to work across an extremely diverse and acute patient-load covering a range of specialities, including Cardiac, Liver, Neuro & Spinal. Working within one of our 24-hour critical care units will keep you challenged and will give you the opportunity to develop your skills, whether that be honing your speciality or undertaking a Leadership & Management (ILM) Course; helping you to support and encourage more junior members of the team. The Wellington can offer you both full and part-time roles alongside some great benefits: Salary: The attractive and competitive salary for this role starts at £40,195 (with additional Shift enhancement) and will be dependent upon skills and experience. Skills & Experience: Registered General Nurse with NMC pin. Neuro, Cardiac or General ITU/HDU specific skills and experience. Motivated and forward thinking individual with excellent communication skills. Excellent communication skills with good time management and prioritisation skills. Practice Assessor Course Critical Care Course (60 Credit) Duties & Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to meet the patient and their family’s needs Responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care for admissions and discharges Ability to quickly identify any clinical problems and report or take appropriate action Undertake extended roles such as venipuncture, cannulation and phlebotomy All ad hoc nursing duties as required by senior staff, including potential deputising for seniors in their absence Contributing to the ongoing research based care and other practice development initiatives Working with junior staff and delegating and supervising the care in a fair and equitable manner Recognising the signs and symptoms of a deteriorating patient and initiate early interventions in a calm and co-ordinated manner If you’re looking to take the next step in your career and want to be part of a fantastic team, then please apply to us today or email David.fitzgeraldhcahealthcare.co.uk with a copy of your CV.
