Overview

Position: Senior Middleware Engineer Location: London Permanent Salary: £60,000 -£65,000 DOE Fantastic Benefits Included (35-hour week with flexi time and part remote working) Middleware Engineer needed for a financial institution that is among the FinTech50. My clients provide cross-boarder payment services to banks and payment businesses across 6 continents and is listed in the London stock exchange with offices all around the world. Your Responsibilities Ensure that the production systems meet stated objectives relating to availability, performance, maintainability and security. Day to day infrastructure support on a wide variety of technologies. Develop and deliver technical automation solutions, aligned with the infrastructure strategy. Providing support for internal as well as external customers. Installation, implementation, upgrading, performance, security, patching and monitoring some of following Middleware technologies (Tomcat, Jboss, WebSphere, WebLogic, INM/RabbitMQ) Maximizing availability and performance for all Middleware systems Developing a detailed understanding of Middleware Clustering for High Availability Monitoring, tracking, trending, analysis and tuning of the Middleware environments Assisting with migration from SUSE/ CentOS to Redhat. Essential Skills In depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, SLES. Deep understanding and experience of the Linux operating system. Deep understanding and experience of the core network services on Linux. Experience around securing Linux and Middleware suit. Experienced administrating Middleware applications (Tomcat, Spring boot). Experienced administering HTTP/Web servers. Good Experience with BASH/Python/yaml scripting. Experienced in Web services (e.g., SOAP, Rest, WSDL, etc.) understanding of DevOps benefits and concepts. Experienced in some of the automation scripting (Ansible, Terraform, Packer, GIT or equivalent). BIND DNS, OpenLDAP, NTPD/Chrony, OpenSSH, DHCP, SAMBA. Nice to have WebSphere MQ experience.
