Overview
The role will involve assisting the Head of Risk in the measurement and reporting of all risk throughout the organisation: market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk and operational risk. The successful candidate will need to quickly gain market knowledge particularly in smaller companies where stock liquidity can be a major consideration. Client Details The client can be best summarised as having the sole aim of servicing the UK mid and small cap market and becoming the best mid and small cap Investment Bank in the UK. Description Maintain the development and embedding of the Operational Risk Framework Produce daily risk reports; perform ad hoc modifications, adjustments, suggest improvements and develop reports Assist with day to day risk management activities involving the trading desk Assist with implementation of risk projects as required by the Risk Committee Help develop and maintain the credit risk database of trading counterparties Assist with the periodic reassessments of counterparty limits Assist with the benchmarking capital adequacy against our peers (via Pillar 3) Assist with content of the ICAAP document and Pillar 3 disclosures Help maintain and update the Operational Risk related policies to reflect any regulatory changes and the firms risk profile Attend Risk Committee meetings Deputise for the Head of Risk in his absence Profile Minimum of 2:1 Bachelor's degree. Economics or Law desirable Advanced user of MS Excel Highly analytical skill-set Excellent problem solver Excellent skills in communicating complex issues in a clear structured way Strong attention to detail Aptitude in data modelling including taking large amounts of market data from various sources Need to be naturally inquisitive and motivated to learn and adapt Job Offer £30,000 to £35,000 annual salary Very competitive bonus structure 30 days holiday Strong pension scheme Private medical Other soft benefits
