Overview

Edenbrook are working with a top performing London Market insurer to source a Senior Financial Accountant (Insurance experience is required). Working directly with the Group Finance manager you will take a leading role in the monthly US and UK GAAP reporting. You will contribute to process enhancements, and develop/maintain a robust controls environment across all financial ledgers and reporting. Key Responsibilities; Manage the day to day financial accounting, reporting and controls in accordance with internal and external deadlines. Prepare the monthly UK & US GAAP management accounts. Produce monthly stand alone and consolidated reporting packs for Group, including evidence of control and reconciliations. Prepare annual statutory financial statements under UK GAAP across multiple entities. Assist in the development of improved accounting and reporting processes Prepare information for external auditors and liaise with them to ensure audit goes smoothly and a good relationship is maintained. Involvement in other finance team projects and ad hoc requests as required Key Technical Skills; Qualified accountant with recognised body (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with minimum 2 years post qualification experience within the insurance industry. Insurance industry audit experience is preferable. Knowledge of insurance accounting essential, ideally within the Lloyd’s or London Market insurance market. Experience of UK/US GAAP, consolidation reporting and investment accounting highly desirable. Strong IT skills, especially Excel, is essential. Knowledge of Sun/Vision highly desirable.
