A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly creative and talented full stack software developer to contribute to the creation of tools that increase learning standards and accessibility to education for children of all abilities. Ecellent Benefits - 28 Days annual leave plus bank holidays; health cover, death in service,and subsidised gym membership The role is in Central London and as the Full Stack Software Developer, you will: Create new and highly interactive educational products / features to engage children, writing both front and back end code Work with the design team to code in Javascript and write / maintain webservices in NodeJS Maintain existing code in a variety of frameworks such as Yii/PHP, BackboneJS, AngularJS and CreateJS Customise content management sites written in Python using Wagtail Work with databases MySQL and MongoDB, and write units tests using Mocha and PHPUnit You will receive: A passionate, vibrant and creative team working environment Health insurance, a wellbeing package and subsidised gym membership The opportunity to make a difference to the lives of millions of children globally Essential Requirements: As the ideal candidate for this role, you will be a creative coder who enjoys learning new technologies. You must be able to write efficient server-side code, ideally in PHP or NodeJS, that can cope with high traffic from many thousands of schools. Pragmatism and comfort fixing legacy code is key, as is the ability to work and learn independently. Solid experience using the following is essential: JavaScript, ideally with VueJS or a similar framework Working with SQL databases Using a source control system, ideally GIT It would be a bonus if you had experience in: Educational software and education Writing unit tests NoSQL databases such as MongoDB Python Canvas libraries such as CreateJS or PhaserJS Why Should You Apply?
