Role overview: Green Man Gaming is a data-driven business, and this means that the Business Intelligence team plays a key role in the day-to-day running of the business.The Business Intelligence Developer will join a team of seven data experts who have strong problem solving skills and a continuous learning mindset. A typical day in the BI team includes; · Maintaining and developing the BI systems infrastructure (code in Python, SQL and using multiple technology platforms) · Administrating BI database and reporting tool · Monitoring and optimising data usage · Q uerying our customer database to support campaigns and projects · P roviding reports and insights for different internal teams · C reating target customer groups for marketing activities · M anaging pricing data · B uilding predictive models to improve customer engagement · D efining customer journeys and discovering customer stories The BI team works closely with all internal teams including marketing (performance, social and international), trading, engineering, finance and content. The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will therefore have the opportunity to learn about multiple stakeholder management and end-to-end project management within the role. Role responsibilities: · Building the database tables, views, ETL processes · Ensuring the consistency of periodic data processes which generate and update the data for high visibility reports which are used by senior management and other departments · Developing exception reports in Looker (our reporting tool) for data maintenance · Working with other teams to tackle data and reporting challenges · Writing SQL queries to run investigations, optimise tables and build tables for important ETL processes · Writing Python scripts to automate new data processes and maintain the existing ones · Monitoring the database performance by using AWS (Amazon Web Service) tools · Build internal tools to assist Business Intelligence team · You will also be involved in the maintenance and upkeep of the data warehouse and also Redshift resources Skills and Requirements: Database Admin experience Python programming experience and knowledge is a must (especially experience with object oriented programming) SQL coding experience and knowledge is a must Stakeholder management and educating them on data and data processes Proactive and eager to learn Well organised and self-motivated Team player Good attention to detail and risk assessment by considering the current BI infrastructure Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in English Work autonomously and as part of a team General awareness of data regulations (i.e. GDPR) Good Admin mindset Experience: Experience in Business Intelligence or any other data/analytics related teams (min 3 years of experience) SQL (min 2 years of experience). Experience with Redshift would be a plus Python (min 2 years of experience) Javascript (nice to have) Experience with BI reporting tools, such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc. (min 1 year of experience).
