Overview
We are currently dealing with a major engineering consultancy who are looking to expand their Birmingham team by recruiting an Associate Director to lead the Bridges team working on variety of Civil/Structural Design schemes within both rail and highways sectors. You will undertake technical leadership working on a range of schemes which includes feasibility through to the construction for highway bridges and rail bridges, along with various other civil structures projects for a variety of client. Within the position your job responsibilities may include but not limited to: Providing technical guidance to others Leading bridge design teams and managing resources effectively. Business development through consolidating existing client relationships and seeking out new business Takes responsibility for ensuring all projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective way Preparing technical reports, fee proposals, bids, budgets, resource levels and all associated HSE, CDM and QA aspects Mentoring Civil, Structural and Bridge Engineers Job Requirements Chartered Engineer or equivalent Vast experience working on Bridge schemes within a consultancy environment whether Highways, Rail structures Experienced in leading a team and managing Engineers Understanding of structural schemes, Eurocodes and their application to bridge design, Design Manual for Bridges, British Standards and other codes This position will be based in Birmingham and could suit a Principal Bridge/Civil Structures Engineer looking to make that step up into Associate.
