The Company We have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Account Handler to join an award-winning independent broker, who’ve been delivering exceptional service to both commercial and private clients for almost 40 years. Due to internal promotions we are now seeking and experienced Insurance Account Handler to join this successful and progressive brokerage. The Role To provide day-to-day servicing and administration of personal lines and small commercial business accounts, in a timely, technically accurate and efficient manner. Main duties to include: Deliver exceptional levels of customer service at all times, responding promptly to all enquiries and instructions. Provide expert broking and administrative services to clients based on your specialism or otherwise seeking appropriate advice for any queries outside your realm. Manage the renewal process, placing cover on best terms where appropriate. Ensure correct creation and maintenance of all records of business handled by you. Be fully conversant with the requirements of the FCA and other regulatory bodies and fully implement and maintain procedures as stipulated. Carry out all duties and tasks in accordance with the rules of the FCA and other regulatory bodies. Actively take part in all training as provided, taking ownership of maintaining/developing skills as part of your continuous professional development. Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department in terms of acquisition and renewal retention. Skills & Requirements: A detailed knowledge of the standard cover/terms/conditions applying to all personal lines handled by you. An understanding of Microsoft Office, Email, Insight etc. Marketplace awareness. An awareness, understanding and compliance of the FCA rules and procedures. An understanding of small commercial policies. Effective questioning and listening skills. Good organisational and interpersonal skills. Precise comprehension and ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Adept at using initiative and problem solving. Enthusiastic with a passion to achieve positive results. Proactive attitude to learning new things and a fast learner. Ability to cope well under pressure with determination and perseverance. CII qualified is an advantage but not essential.
