Overview

Application Security Engineer (DevSecOps) JVM - Kotlin/Golang An ambitious, financially secure disruptive banking organisation is looking to add a number of Application Security Engineers (DevSecOps) to their current JVM based Engineering team. Application security is a core foundation of the dev process and your role will ensure this organisation keeps their platform safe with a "security by design" approach. Utilising JVM (specifically Kotlin/Go) you will be involved in the full SDLC from Threat Modelling through to Static/Dynamic testing, Automation Testing and Vulnerability Scanning.You will have a strong and demonstrable interest in the Cyber Security landscape with a clear understanding of current threats, emergent exploits and vectors. You will be well versed in the coding practice/tools available to combat these issues with a fastidious attention to detail and security first approach. You will be comfortable being involved in code review and delivering mentorship/training to the wider DevOps team on best practice guiding triage/bug fixing at the earliest stages of the software development lifecycle. Key competencies required: Hands-on technical and showing the way in writing secure JVM based application code Research, develop, run security engineering toolsets introducing advanced security automation Use your technical abilities to guide engineering teams to adopt security practices in software design and development Create and guide engineering standards for Mobile / API / microservice architected applications This is in essence a greenfield project with a microservices based approach and will suit someone who relishes the pace and challenge of a truly agile environment working with cutting edge technology/processes. You must have these skills: Demonstrable hands-on experience with Application Security Development experience inclusive of Mobile and API / microservices security Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Golang, Java, or Kotlin Working experience with DevSecOps environment Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure Passionate about security and maintains up-to-date knowledge of available and emerging security threats Offering a highly competitive basic salary, bonus and benefits package this is a great opportunity to join a top tier disruptive banking application development team in a JVM focused DevSecOps role.
