Senior Configuration Engineer
Overview
World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a Senior Configuration Engineer subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract. The department are ideally looking for candidates who have a strong Defence/Aerospace industry background as a Change Manager / Configuration Engineer / Configuration Manager. Windchill experience would be great Hourly Rate: The Company are offering excellent rates. Contract Duration: 6 Months Security Information: Please Note you must be eligible for SC Security Clearance (unfortunately due to security restrictions for this role, the candidate will need to be a British National with no dual nationality and must have resided in the UK for at least 4 of the past 5 years). Senior Configuration Engineer Job Description: Senior Configuration Engineer to act as focal point for CM project support, delivering Configuration Management support against contractual Defence Standards as well as Investigating and Implementing Engineering Change Management against our product definitions. Carrying out Engineering Change Management Activities to include: Reviewing documentation for completion and accuracy, Generating part numbers/Drawing numbers, structuring Bills of Material, interrogating engineering drawings and implementing the Engineering Changes. Support in Generating, publishing and maintaining: Configuration Management Plans, Product/Project Structures, Strike Registers, Design Signature Lists, etc. Supporting regular Configuration Management Committee meetings (CMC, LTC, CCB), Modification meetings and ad hoc meetings: schedule diary, manage meetings, generate agendas, take and publish minutes. Supporting Configuration Manager in the planning and carrying out of Supplier Audits: Schedule diary, generate agendas and reports, chase non-conformities and update the audit tracker Skills/Experience: Ideally suited to someone who has proven experience of working in a similar role within the defence sector: Candidates from other industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, etc. Suitable experience including Bill of Material Engineers, Material Requirements Planning Analysts, Engineering Change Engineers, Technical Data Managers, etc., will also be considered.
