Job Description My client, a Midlands based entertainment company, is currently looking for a junior C++ programmer to join their growing team. A degree in computer sciences is essential. Experience in working in a team of developers across the complete software lifecycle. This role will have active daily involvement in cutting code, but will also be responsible for helping the team lead to plan the tasks which members of the team will execute, and the order in which they execute the tasks. The key requirement is an individual who has knowledge of C++ and associated APIs, and who has real-world experience of applying that knowledge to a complex and fast-moving development environment . Essential skills: C++ Microsoft Visual Studio Direct X Subversion Role: Working as part of a team of developers, you will be writing code and supporting materials which are functional, operable and creative. This will involve: Working as part of a team to deliver for test and deployment. Work with the producers to understand and implement creative changes Being able to balance creativity, technology, strategy and pragmatism. Following the strategy, quality and best practices of the group. Task management Log time spend against projects as directed by Project Office Use task tracking tools as directed by team lead and development manager Communicate progress and issues to team lead in a timely manner Engage in project planning and estimation meetings as directed by team lead Active Development Development of reusable component code Produce and maintain documentation on developed components Provide adequate test coverage for developed components Follow the strategy and best practices of the group · Seeks to ensure that business needs are met in a way that is advantageous to both the organisation and customer · Degree level education in technical discipline Experience of development work in a team of developers Experience of complete software lifecycle Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies Postgraduate technical qualification Good written and oral communication skills Good team player Ability to create positive player experience This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89894456
