Software Engineer C++ | Birmingham | £45,000 - £60,000 Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are currently working with a growing and talented, award-winning software provider. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Software Engineer with experience of C++ and Web development. You'll work with a team on computer vision, content identification, processing at scale, big data, and a web portal with complex metadata. Your deliverables will likely run on a mixture of cloud processing, CLI / desktop applications, and mobile apps. THE BASICS: The position requires strong commercial development experience in C++ , familiarity with distributed systems, keen mathematical skills, and enthusiasm for technical challenges. You'll be expected to develop your skills in multiple, challenging technical areas to work as part of a rapidly growing technical organisation. You will work across several disciplines, including software/database design, C++ algorithm development, continuous integration/delivery and PHP scripting. As C++ Web Developer you will be working as part of a team on a large-scale application that supports services in use by major global companies You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from design and prototype through development, testing, and deployment Deliver to rapid timescales in a dynamic environment Working effectively to estimate and deliver issues, working within teams that use Agile/Scrum methodologies THE TECHNICAL STUFF: BEng / MEng / BSc / MSc in relevant subject or equivalent experience. Strong commercial software development experience, including object oriented concepts. Experience in software development for distributed systems. Excellent mathematical and communication skills. Experience with automated testing best practices, and Continuous Integration/Delivery. Familiarity with software configuration management (SCM) concepts and version control systems, especially Git. Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems, including scripting skills. DESIRABLE SKILLS: AWS cloud services (including ECS, EC2, CloudWatch, RDS, Lambda Experience of PHP scripting, Docker, GitLab CI, Embedded C, MySQL, Redis, Beanstalk / RabbitMQ / ActiveMQ Familiarity working in a development team that uses Software Configuration Management (SCM) concepts, version control (incl.
