On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer for a 6 month contract based in London . Purpose of the Role: As a Platform Engineer , you'll be part of a forward-thinking, cross-functional agile team supporting the launch of a new part of the business. This is an open platform that's flexible, scalable and ready to deliver Nationwide for Business embracing Agile, Cloud and DevOps. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge, open-source technologies in a collaborative and close-knit environment. As a Platform Engineer you will be responsible for: Designing and architecting complex, enterprise-level infrastructure CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, JIRA, GIT, Veracode and Nexus/Artifactory AWS, Azure and GCP using Kubernetes (K8s), EKS, GKE or AKS Implementing microservices following 12-factor and cloud-native approaches Cloud abstraction and deployment tools like Ansible, KOPs and Terraform Assisting polyglot teams that use JavaScript, .NET, golang, Rust, node.js and an event-based architecture on Kafka/Confluent Linux distributions like CoreOS and CentOS What we require from the candidate: AWS, modern AWS (Lambdas, Containers, Docker) - a real expert who has worked hands on it with it for most of their roles. Not just done a training course as anyone can do that online. Need to have built a greenfield cloud platform from scratch, and been there from the start, not just been involved in it half way. Terraform CI/CD Sysadmin or development background, however an engineering background would be best. Need to have had critical role in building a platform, good comms skills, lots of interaction with stakeholders. IR35 Status: This role has been assessed as inside of IR35.
