Job Title: Key Worker Permanent Contract Salary: £21,736 Location: Bristol (semi-independent accommodations) Hours of work: 44 hours per week (full 24 hour flexibility required Monday to Sunday - shifts may include daytime, evening, sleep-in's) Zero Hours Contracts also available Our Mission: To safeguard young people from anything and anyone who can harm their welfare To support and empower young people to learn and develop the skills they need to become independent To celebrate young people's progress by recognising and rewarding their achievements Our Vision: For our young people to be able to live independently and achieve their full potential in life, giving them a brighter future For Local Authorities to want us to work with more of their young people because they see the success young people are achieving with our support Job Purpose: To successfully lead young people who are placed with Safe Haven Accommodation (SHA) towards independence by supporting them to achieve specific objectives in line with their individual needs and abilities. Responsibilities: To take appropriate action in line with SHA’s policies and procedures to safeguard service users from harm and promote their welfare To read the risk assessment at the beginning of every shift to ensure full awareness of risks associated with service users and what action to take to mitigate them. To keep the risk assessment updated and to communicate updates to colleagues To refer to the appropriate manager, immediately, upon any suspicion, evidence or allegation of any concern in relation to child protection, in accordance with SHA’s Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures To conduct correct checks on all visitors to the property and relevant records are completed to To share essential information with colleagues, management and professionals in a timely and professional manner, especially when dealing with incidents and complete all relevant reports To protect confidential data by adhering to relevant policies relating to property, paperwork, systems and equipment To fulfil specific activities and expectations while on shift to deliver the objectives set in the service user’s Outcome Star Plan / Pathway Plan / Weekly Planner To complete all relevant records relating to your shift to a high standard and in a timely manner, ensuring your records are accurate and detailed enough to provide useful insight and information to those reading them To conduct Key Work sessions with service users and to record evidence of the sessions as part of your record keeping To ensure that service user’s paperwork and records are up to date To prepare for and attend relevant meetings regarding the service user, such as LAC reviews, house meetings, strategy meetings etc To ensure the general up keep of the house is to a high standard including where necessary cleaning the property To carry out relevant basic property inspections and report any issues straight away to the relevant department To establish and maintain positive relationships with service users To respect and meet the physical, cultural, emotional, religious, educational and psychological needs of service users and colleagues To provide a positive, welcoming and stimulating environment for service users, supporting them in carrying out domestic duties in their home when required To encourage service users to have a voice and input into the service they receive and to follow up on this accordingly To respect and enforce professional boundaries and communication with service users, colleagues, professionals from statutory or voluntary sectors and other agencies To work on specifically designated tasks or projects which contribute to the development of SHA, as requested by management To keep abreast of developments within the profession including knowledge of legislation, policy and practice procedures relating to service users within SHA To comply with all relevant SHA policies and procedures. Qualification: Level 3 Health & Social Care NVQ will be funded by Safe Haven Accommodation if the successful candidates do not already have the qualification.
