Willmott Dixon Sunesis is a new, innovative business which exists to positively transform construction. Embracing technology, we think differently and are developing innovative new approaches and solutions which drive the efficient design, procurement, manufacture and assembly of a new generation of products and projects. It has been established to deliver transformative approaches to the way Willmott Dixon delivers its projects and to act as a catalyst for the modernisation of the current Tier 1 main contractor model. We provide other parts of Willmott Dixon with design and procurement services that use pre-designed repeatable components, aggregated-demand procurement and a strong Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) ethos. Our mission is to create solutions to enable Willmott Dixon to 'design, price, plan and procure in a day'. The Role To support this exciting initiative, we are looking to recruit a Head of Procurement to manage all financial aspects and contractual issues relating to this business as well as ensuring that the financial targets are achieved. As part of the Senior Management team you will provide commercial support to the Managing Director and contribute to the effective day to day running of the business and the shaping of its future strategy. Key responsibilities include: Deliver to agreed budget within acceptable range of results and take all necessary action to ensure this is achieved as a minimum unless otherwise directed by MD. Contribute to business strategic plans where appropriate and promote the company externally. Provide leadership and support to recruit, develop, motivate and retain the best people Ensure effective team working between the commercial/procurement teams, and other departments by effective communication. Maximise the businesses cash position observing Group guidelines on subcontract payments and ensuring timely valuations and receipt of money from customers. Provide in real time, accurate and realistic commercial reports and projections to achieve the budgeted year end profit for the Business Unit. Promote effective resolution of final accounts and disputes. Help prepare budgets accurately reflecting the future financial position and projected market conditions. Assist the Design department in the strategic relationship management of third-party designers and consultants. Provide commercial support to the development of the Willmott Dixon Sunesis platform. Work with Willmott Dixon Sunesis colleagues, supply chain and external designers to implement P-DfMA principles into the Willmott Dixon Sunesis platform. Assist in the creation of a capability assessment for Consultants and Supply Chain Partners. Provide feedback to Willmott Dixon Sunesis, LCO Supply Chain Managers, National Supply Chain Team and Design Consortium Leads. In conjunction with Group, maximise the potential recovery of R&D tax relief and R&D funding Promote the Willmott Dixon Sunesis brand. Essential and Desirable Criteria Essential Experience of aspects of commercial management A detailed knowledge of relevant contract conditions Construction related degree or relevant work experience Good level of experience in dispute resolution and contract administration Able to travel independently to work Extensive knowledge of relevant computer software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project. Detail-oriented, methodical, meticulous, process-oriented, yet open to change and motivated by innovation Ability to handle multiple tasks, deadlines and interact effectively with others in the workplace Great collaborator and communicator - excellent verbal and written skills are important A high level of organisation and strategic implementation Maintaining technical knowledge and understanding.
