Embracing technology, we think differently and are developing innovative new approaches and solutions which drive the efficient design, procurement, manufacture and assembly of a new generation of products and projects. It has been established to deliver transformative approaches to the way Willmott Dixon delivers its projects and to act as a catalyst for the modernisation of the current Tier 1 main contractor model. We provide other parts of Willmott Dixon with design and procurement services that use pre-designed repeatable components, aggregated-demand procurement and a strong Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) ethos. Our mission is to create solutions to enable Willmott Dixon to 'design, price, plan and procure in a day'. The Role To support this exciting initiative, we are looking to recruit a Head of Manufacturing & Assembly to lead and be responsible for all aspects of the platform manufacturing and on-site assembly process, providing support to the LCO teams undertaking the latter. Contribute as part of the senior management team to the effective day to day running of the business and the shaping of its future strategy. Key responsibilities include: Contribute to business strategic plans where appropriate and promote the company externally. Provide leadership and support to recruit, develop, motivate and retain the best people. Ensure effective team working between the operational team, and other departments by effective communication. Provide in real time, accurate and realistic operational reports and projections. Act as manufacturing and on-site assembly lead with respect to the platform. Working in conjunction with the rest of the senior management team this includes the management of all supply chain partners, including the establishment and management of long-term performance contracts, together will all appropriate LCO financial reporting Ensure the LCO operational teams' quality outputs meet Willmott Dixon Sunesis' standards during construction and also on completion. Lead of the development of an automated solution to programming and prelims production - driven from the platform model and configuration tool. Provide operational input into the design of the platform components and its resultant assemblies - with specific reference to ensuring the optimum manufacturing and subsequent assembly of the same. Work with Willmott Dixon Sunesis colleagues, supply chain and external designers to implement P-DfMA principles into the Willmott Dixon Sunesis platform. Lead the Willmott Dixon Sunesis aftercare process - including the facilitation of lessons learned workshops - to ensure the timely resolution of all defects, root cause identification and the development of improvements to the platform toobviate the same from occurring in the future. Assist in the creation of winning PQQs/ tenders and support the Willmott Dixon Sunesis team throughout the process. Promote the Willmott Dixon Sunesis brand. Attend meetings as required nationally Essential and Desirable Criteria Essential Criteria Successful leadership of multi-disciplinary teams Resolving technical, operational and contractual issues and / or disputes Variety of construction operations Using Microsoft suite of Office programmes; inc. Excel, Word, Outlook and Project Efficient management of staff and resources Skilled in analytical thinking, modelling and rendering to support the design process. Reading and accurately interpreting contract documents, programmes, drawings and technical specifications Ensuring projects team understanding of drawings and technical specifications Understanding and appropriately sharing build programmes. Construction related degree or relevant work experience. Appropriate CSCS card Able to travel independently to work MCIOB or MRICS · SMSTS certificate First Aid at Work certificate Desirable Criteria Experience in using 4D programming techniques and associated software Good understanding of DfMA principles MCIOB / MRICS or equivalent professional qualification.
