Overview

Are you experinced in Planning or Scheduling? Do you have what it takes to work in a high paced manufacturing environment? This position has single point responsibility for procurement, planning and scheduling of manufacturing units within Tubes at the Corby site. As part of a small flexible team, the jobholder is also required to provide stand in cover for any of the team Schedulers. To carry out this role successfully, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: Undertake mill planning, producing robust manufacturing programs, which support customer requirements in the most efficient and effective manner. Undertake coil feedstock forecasting and planning for the Manufacturing Unit's order book, to produce a robust procurement instruction, which minimised working capital and optimises mill productivity. Operate and maintain the SAP Planning system in line with capacity management processes to control manufacturing load, define customer ready for despatch commitments and support order entry. Ensure synchronisation is maintained between inbound coil, the Manufacturing Mills and order load. Validate commercial forecasts and identify potential commercial opportunities for exploitation (volume, phasing etc.) based on existing forecasts and Manufacturing capability to ensure mill utilisation is maximised. Provide single contact point on scheduling / planning / enquiries for the relevant Manufacturing Manager and the Commercial Department. Coordinate non-technical enquiry handling for the Manufacturing unit. The Candidate Ideally educated to a degree level or equivalent, although extensive supply chain experience may be acceptable. Strong analytical capability and problem solving skills. Understanding of Flow principles, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques. Strong decision making, interpersonal, influencing and team working skills. Detailed knowledge of production planning processes and high levels of IT literacy, including SAP, Tandem and MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project).
