Overview
New Appointments Group are currently partnering with a leading distributor based in East Kent to recruit a Senior Transport Planner to join the team following a period of significant growth. Working alongside and supporting the Lead Senior Planner the main purpose of this role will be to ensure the efficient planning and routing of depot vehicles for distribution locally and nationally. The Senior Transport Planner will help supervise 14 staff within a busy transport office, ensuring that loads are planned effectively, adjusting plans where necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, assisting others to interpret the route and ensuring all jobs are progressed from planning delivery to final drop investigating any discrepancies and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The Senior Transport Planner will be able to demonstrate previous experience planning within a transport environment, knowledge of groupage, full and part loads and prior experience supervising and managing a team. Please note that this role is based on a shift pattern of four-on-four-off Monday to Friday and hours of work vary from 10am-7pm and 8am-5pm.
