Learn more at www.cargill.com Description Job location: York Cargill's plant in York is a production facility at the hub of the UK cocoa and confectionery industry. As part of Cargill's cocoa and chocolate business, we produce a full range of chocolate for various applications for customers in the confectionery, biscuit, bakery and dairy industries. Over the course of the three-year apprenticeship, you will work as part of the production team, learning the process and operational skills required to successfully support the operation of one of our production departments The key responsibilities for the Process Operator Apprentice are: Train in the safe and effective operation of machinery and equipment on the plant Learn to use a central display screen to monitor the plant and identify issues Carry out in-process quality control checks and other analytical checks Carry out routine operational tasks Learn to identify and resolve problems within the process Participation in projects and community activities Study towards Level 3 Food and Drink Advanced Process Operator Qualifications/Experience Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/grade 4, equivalent or higher including Maths, English and Science Ability to demonstrate a genuine desire to work in an engineering/manufacturing environment Inquisitiveness and strong desire to learn Strong problem solving ability Team work and communication skills A social approach to work The successful candidate will be self-motivated, flexible and able to show a sound social approach to the company and other employees. You will be able to work as part of a team with the capability to learn several jobs and have plant problem solving ability, as well as being able to communicate well with other employees. You will be able to work under pressure and apply yourself conscientiously. You will study alongside the job; undertaking training and development on a block release basis at the National Centre for Food Manufacturing - University of Lincoln. The position will initially start as a days-based role, working 40 hours per week, and will move into shifts which involve 12-hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off pattern. The shifts are planned to cover the plant 365 days per year, 24 hours per day. ?
