A project Buyer is required on a Contract basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business. Have you got experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing engineering environment? If you are seeking an exciting challenge then this is the role for you As a Project Buyer you will play a key role in leading a range of resourcing projects. The successful applicant will need to ensure all projects are delivered on time to meet the production requirements. Each project offers the opportunity working with suppliers and cross functional team Leads to ensure new parts meet cost and quality of the business. You will be part of a friendly team working together to deliver programmes that are critical to the long-term success of a respected, global company. Duties to include: Lead resource projects. Produce project plans and weekly reports to the Project Procurement Manager. Leading project meetings with suppliers and cross functional team leads. Document and manage project Risks and Issues, whilst communicating successes. Process Tooling estimates through the approvals process and ensure purchase orders are issued. Manage new engineering samples from the supplier into our factories for validation. Manage new projects in accordance with our APQP process. Produce cost benefit analysis and sourcing recommendations. Produce business cases for business approval of RFQ recommendations. Support sourcing strategy development and implementation. Required Skills: Procurement background e.g Buyer Demonstrable Project skills e.g. 6 Sigma, Prince 2. Good stakeholder management and networking skills. Good computer skills and able to produce presentations, project plan and excel analysis. Ideally have Manufacturing experience, but not essential. Knowledge of APQP would be advantageous. MCIPS qualified would be advantageous. Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
