Job role: HGV Foreman Location: Uffculme (Devon) Hours: Monday to Friday (40hrs) – to cover opening hours of 06:00 - 18:00 (Shift pattern to be confirmed) with a paid 20-minute Tea break and unpaid 30-minute lunch break. On call cover required for Saturdays following bank holiday- on a rota basis Shift: Days Salary: £16.50 / £34,320 Overtime: Paid at 1.5 X Benefits: 23 days holiday plus 8 bank/public holidays,Company pension after 3 months, Full uniform provided, Safety boot allowance We are recruiting for an HGV Foreman to join our business, We are an experienced provider of bulk vehicle transport and logistics with a head office in Devon. Key Responsibilities of HGV Foreman To ensures that the workers within the workshop are following correct work procedures and safety precautions. Expected to assess job priorities and assign workers accordingly to be able to maintain the serviceability and operational effectiveness of customers vehicles and trailers. Main Duties: o Conduct vehicle service and inspections in accordance with DVSA regulations. o The supervision and motivation of labour in an efficient and safe manner to ensure maximum productivity is achieved; o The supervision and motivation of labour in an efficient and safe manner to ensure maximum productivity is achieved; o Coordinate tasks for the day o Day to day problem solving working alongside the Workshop Manager o Ordering of parts/stock and stock control o Prepare and present vehicles for MOT. o Carry out daily and routine maintenance and repairs on of all makes and models of HGV trucks, trailers and any other vehicle required. o Attend vehicle breakdowns as and when required. (Training allowing) o Maintain a Safe Working Environment for all employees. o Carry out additional tasks when requested by the Workshop Manager Applicants should be suitably qualified and have experience in heavy commercial vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostic - any experience working on RCV's or Car Transporters would be beneficial.
