This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced quality professional to lead the quality engineering department for the Siemens Rail Infrastructure factory based in Chippenham, UK. The manufacturing team supply railway signalling equipment to internal Siemens and external railway customers worldwide. As a key member of the manufacturing management team, you will be responsible for all aspects of quality assurance throughout the product lifecycle. You will lead a small team of quality engineers responsible for supplier assurance, process control, quality compliance, customer assurance and continuous improvement. Collaboration with internal stakeholders including design, project engineering and the global business excellence team will be essential. What are my responsibilities? Work with the manufacturing management team to develop quality strategy Lead the business excellence program for manufacturing and represent the UK on the global freight and products business excellence team Manage quality assurance Plan and implement internal quality audits Facilitate the acquisition and maintenance of industry standard accreditation including IRIS (TS 22163) and ISO9001 Responsibility for attainment of customer approvals such as Link Up and CCC Develop process control methodology for the factory Lead continuous improvement Develop and update the BMS for manufacturing Collaborate with the purchasing team to manage supplier quality assurance Manage customer assurance Work with engineering to plan new product introduction What do I need to qualify for this job? Essential Requirements : Excellent knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical and electrical engineering Good understanding of low volume high mix manufacturing Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills People management experience Financial awareness Degree or HND in engineering or equivalent qualifications Lead Auditor Qualification Desirable Requirements: Chartered engineering status or CQI qualifications Experience working in rail or another safety critical industry Understanding of the TS 22163 About us We’re Siemens.
