Six Degrees are delighted to working with a leading manufacturer who are looking to recruit a buyer to join their purchasing team. To purchase quality products and materials. Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing. Process requisitions and update management on status of orders. Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels. .To provide a high level of service to our internal customers;with the aim of exceeding the expectations of our external customers. Key Responsibilities To co-ordinate the expediting activity to ensure a minimum on time delivery target of 98% from the supplier To liaise on a daily basis with relevant site location/production with any discrepancies on delivery dates between Purchase Order and the Customer Order/Manufacturing date Ensure Sales and Production Objectives are met i.e. volume, delivery and quality To release bought in items from the Plan on a daily basis The cost effective procurement of Goods, Raw Materials, Consumables, Services and Capital Expense Items To achieve best price and delivery without compromising quality To expedite and challenge any expected/overdue Purchase Orders To resolve any invoice queries within the PIP functionality Check Inventory Levels on all items before being procured Help manage stock reduction and obsolescence of Inventory Items Update Vendor Contracts for all Inventory Items To be fully competent in all aspects of the purchasing functionality within the ERP System To understand and comply with current Purchasing policies and procedures Use Material Planner Workbench and Purchasing requisition Process Convert requisitions into Purchase Orders in a timely manner Manage supplier schedules and expediting Resolve administration problems related to procurement To log and report savings/losses on a daily/weekly/monthly basis To contact suppliers to check price and availability Qualifications GCSE’s or equivalent in English and Maths CIPS level 3 or equivalent preferable Experience Experience of working within a Buyer/Purchasing role IT skills to include the use of MS Office, Outlook, Skype and in-house computer systems
