Buyer / Workington / £23,000 - £27,000 Your new role Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager you will source products & services at best possible commercial terms that will support a range of customer projects. Key duties include- Source items as necessary to ensure that all relevant items/services are available to deliver all projects on time, and at minimum cost. Identify new and alternative sources of supply to avoid over dependence on too few suppliers and maintain market competitiveness. Support the monitoring of supplier performance Initiate and negotiate annual contracts for specified goods and services What you'll need to succeed This role could suit both a Purchasing Assistant / Administrator, Assistant Buyer or Purchasing Officer looking for professional development or a proven Buyer looking for a new career challenge. At interview you will be able to demonstrate good organisational, attention to detail and communication skills alongside good IT skills. What you'll get in return You will receive a salary of £22,000 - £27,000 dependant on experience and qualification alongside benefits including excellent holiday, pension and benefits.
